Item # 53:
Hunan House Bean Curd
Price: $7.50
Date completed:  Monday March 17th, 2003
So only 48 hours until World War III according to our fair president, huh? I don't think I can finish another 20 items in two days, so can you hold up a little longer? This dish is so much better than the last dish, it's almost as if that #52 was just a bad dream. Yeah that's it. So this one has huge slabs of tofu (steaks, as Jer calls them) smothered in black bean and hot pepper sauce. Perfect size -- two bites each. No, bites, not bytes, geez.

I had this same dish when I was back home for Christmas. That was back when Moss was in the 10-20's of the menu. On my website I gave this one a '9'. And if memories serves, that day Jer's meal was taking a really long time so I gave him one of the tofu 'steaks'. He seemed to like it a lot.

I prefer tofu "planks".

Or Tofu filets. In Australia they pronounce the 't' so filet rhymes with skillet and brillet.
